Military Service Kennel Club By R. R. TAYNTON. Both the National Capital and the Old Dominion Kennel Clubs probably soon will lose their presi dents to Uncle Sam. Dr. Charles Davis has been reclassified to 1-A and A1 Gardiner is to be inducted on March 30. Both have done swell jobs for their clubs and doubtlessly will do equally well in their new affiliations. Military necessity took Capt. and Mrs. E. M. Perkins away from this area and active participation in the local kennel clubs many months ago. But both still feel this is home and these are their home clubs aud shows. They have continued their breeding and showing of miniature Schnauzers under conditions that would daunt most other people, but they report most gratifying results. The children who posed for the photo graphs used in the book were their guests also, as well as 50 other j children of New York schools. Oth- I er notables present were Josh MARIE EETS White and his five year old son, Little Josh and Walter White, who presented the original manu script and photographs to Carl Van Vechten. Photographs for the book were made by Alexander and Alexandra Alland and Camille. Ma riette. OUTSTANDING DOGS OF 1945 AMERICA’S dog judges, balloting in the second annual poll conducted by the Gaines Dog Research Center, New York, chose these five as the outstanding dogs of 1945. Quo Shmerk von Marienland (1), male Doberman Pinscher owned by Rupprechtheim Kennels, Indianapolis, Ind., was voted top place. Runners up in the balloting were Siramo’s Impertinent Lady (2), female Kerry Blue owned by S’rarno Kennels, Burbank, Calif.; Mighty Sweet Regard* less (3), female Boston Terrier owned by Claude J. Fitzgerald, Wyan dotte, Mich.; Rudiki of Prides Hill (4), male Afghan international cham- owned by Mrs. Marion Foster Florsheim, New York City; and withem General Mac (5), male Pointer owned by Robert F.
